Lahore: Punjab Sports Board’s Boys U-14 and Girls U-16 athletics team left here for Karachi to participate in the Pakistan Sports Board’s Inter-provincial Youth Athletics under the auspices of Sindh Sports Board in Karachi from May 15 to 17.
Both the teams (Boys and Girls) were seen off by the Director General Sports Board Punjab (SBP), Usman Anwar. DG, SBP Usman Anwar while addressing on the occasion said that Sports Board Punjab playing important role to enhance the abilities of the youth as Punjab has clean swept in the U-16 swimming event by winning all the 11 gold medals.
“ All the credit of the winning in swimming event goes to Punjab Youth Festival,” and hoped that Punjab athletics teams would also perform same in Karachi. Deputy Director SBP Waqas Akbar will be the Manager of the both teams. Girls U-16 athletics team: Malihan Imtiaz, Rabab Mir, Samira Riaz, Esha Imran, Rukhsar Hanif, Sana K azmi, Ramaq Iram, Aysha Naureen, Tehreem, Jawaria Javed Khateja and Muniza Mubarak (Coach).
Boys U-14 athletics team: Muhammad Hassan, Aamir Abbas, Kashif Nawaz, Abdur Rehman, Rehan, Babar Ali, Muhammad Usman, Shahzad Ali, Muhammad Faisal, Babar Zaheer, Chand Zeb, Tassawar Abbas, Muhammad Shahzeb,Waqar Ahmad. Ammanat Gul and FazaL Ur Rehman coaches.
