Forty thousand additional class rooms will be constructed in the govt schools: Rana Mashud

Minister Education-1 Minister Education-2Lahore: Government of the Punjab has set a target of achieving hundred percent literacy rate in the province till 2016 under Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Progamme.

Forty thousand additional class rooms will be constructed in the public sector schools to accommodate millions of additional number of students in this process.

This was disclosed by the Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan while addressing to the stone laying ceremony of a new academic block, an IT Lab and a staff room at Government Girls High School Sodiwal Lahore, here today.

The Minister informed that this project will be completed with a total cost of Rs. 15 million. After the completion of this extension project, the school will be upgraded to higher secondary level.

The Minister announced to construct a multipurpose hall in the school during the next fiscal year. He also announced to install a water filtration plant at electric water cooler to facilitate the students of Government Girls High School Sodiwal Lahore.

Prominent social workers and PML-N activists also attended the ceremony. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan assured them that state of the art medical gadgets will be provided to the late Rana Abdul Rahim Memorial Hospital, Sodiwal Lahore in the next month as soon as the SNE is released. It will make the recently constructed building of the hospital with the cost of Rs. 40 million completely functional to provide healthcare facilities to the local population, he added.

Senior Headmistress Mrs. Farah Aamir presented the performance report of the school on the occasion while hundreds of female students and local public opinion leaders also attended the function which included Muhammad Arif Khan, Rana Muhammad Tahir and coordinators of PML-N Union Council-92 Ch. Muhammad Afzal, Raja Hafeez Ahmad Mauju and Mian Adnan Sanaullah.
