LHC notice setting a dog on a divorced woman

Lahore: LHC Complaint Cell took notice of a press report on administrative side that ex-husband and in-laws set dog on a woman.

The Cell has directed the District & Sessions Judge, Hafizabad to look into the matter and submit detailed report regarding steps taken by police along with his own comments within a week.

According to details, a divorced woman, Shehr Bano, along with her mother was going to the Sukheke police station to lodge complaint against her former in-laws regarding a dowry dispute. Near the police station, Bano’s former husband and his relatives, including Asif, allegedly unleashed a dog on her. As a result, she was injured.

After the incident, Bano and her mother came to the police station and on their report, the police arrested one of the accused. When police brought the accused to the police station, Bano’s mother allegedly beat him. According to police, the allegation was false and concocted only to defame her ex-husband and his parents.
