Lahore: Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Energy, Shahid Riaz Gondal has said that PML-N government is committed to eliminate load-shedding and ensure provision of electricity in abundance in the country. Government is forwarding towards its destination under a coordinated strategy, he added.
In a statement here today, Shahid Riaz Gondal said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has laid the foundation stone of a mega project of electricity generation from coal at Port Qasim while extension projects of Gaddu Power Plant, Uch Power Plant and Tarbela Dam have already been inaugurated. He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif will also lay the foundation stone of a big solar power and coal power project in Punjab during the current month. He said that an overall 1320 megawatt electricity will be generated from two power projects to be installed at Sahiwal.
Shahid Riaz Gondal said that the opponents have been perturbed over the launching of various electricity projects. He said that on the one hand the government is committed to rid the country of loadshedding while on the other, some elements are spreading disappointment among the nation. People know that PML-N government will rid the country of energy crisis forever, he concluded.
