Lahore: Ombudsman Punjab, Javed Mahmood, while taking notice of nonpayment of salaries to 104 employees of Population Welfare Department Sheikhupura since 7 months, has directed Secretary Population welfare to submit a report in this regard.
Ombudsman Punjab took notice on a media report and said that nonpayment of salaries to employees of Population Welfare Department Sheikhupura was infact, worst kind of financial exploitation of the employees and their family members.
It is amazing that source of means of 104 families is ceased since 7 months and concerned are totally unmoved, observed Ombudsman Punjab. As per media report, the employees and their families are at the verge of starvation and their children are unable to continue their educational activities due to nonpayment of salaries.
Timely payment of salary is the legitimate right of the employees and delay in payment is maladministration on the part of concerned authorities which is taken seriously, concluded Ombudsman Punjab.
