Artists are precious asset of the country: Rana Arshad

Lahore: Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Rana Muhammad Arshad has said that Munawar Zareef, Moeen Akhtar, Mastana and Babbu Baral have the status of university in the field of comedy and such artists born in centuries. He said that these artists are precious asset of the country and the nation and their services will be remembered forever.

He expressed these views while addressing a function for paying tribute to the above mentioned artists held in recognition to their services at Alhamra Hall-II, here today. Prominent artists of film, TV, stage and media personalities were present on the occasion.

Rana Muhammad Arshad said that the nation highly values the efforts of comedians who create humour in this environment of terrorism. He said that the artists dedicated their whole life for the entertainment of the people and the nation will never forget their services.

Rana Arshad said that government is making efforts for restoring activities at cinemas and stage and has completely abolished tax on cinema houses. He said that government will extend all out cooperation for revival of film industry. Prominent artists of the country including Ali Ejaz, Khalid Abbas Dar, Iqbal Kashmiri, Bahar Begum, Irfan Khosat, Sohail Ahmed (Azizi), Asghar Nadeem Syed, Yasir Pirzada, Madiha Shah, Wasi Shah, Sakhawat Naz and Hanif Raja also spoke on the occasion.
