Sindh Assembly resolution against Islamic Ideology Council is unconstitutional

Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the resolution of the Sindh Assembly and the hue and cry of the NGOs’ against the Islamic Ideology Council (ICC) were unconstitutional and aimed at the propagation of secularism.Sharmila Farooqi

Speaking at a Nikah ceremony held at the Mansoora mosque on Monday, he said that a handful of westernized, secular elements wanted to thrust their views on the 180 million Pakistanis who were imbued with faith in Tauheed, the  love of the noble Prophet and wanted the Islamic system based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. He said the masses would safeguard the Pakistan ideology and added that the objectives of the creation of Pakistan could not be altered by force.

Liaqat Baloch said that the sacred institution of Nikah in the Islamic society was an instrument that promoted chastity besides ensuring a strong family system and the protection of the younger generation. On the other hand,  the western society promoted free sex resulting in the growth of immorality and destruction of the family system.

He said that the corporate culture and the western civilization were a serious threat to the Islamic way of life and values. However, if the country was run strictly in accordance with the constitution, Pakistan could become a truly Islamic welfare state. He urged the media owners and the press not to serve the agenda of the western powers.
