Non-availability of potable water is a serious issue: Governor Punjab

Muhammad Sarwar has said that non-availability of potable water to crores of poor children of Pakistan is a serious issue which should be resolved immediately. He said that no province of Pakistan can wait till 2016 for the supply of safe drinking water. He said that the seriousness of the situation can be judged from the fact that more than one lakh children are brought to only one hospital of Lahore annually which is Institute of Child Health in critical condition due to diarrhea which is the result of polluted water. He said that provincial governments should take measures on emergent basis for the solution of this problem.

Addressing annual prize distribution ceremony of Qazi Group of Schools, Governor Punjab that he is not the son of a rich person or feudal and therefore, he understands the problems of the poor. He said that love for new generations demands that at least potable water should be provided to them. He said that any unifying force which can transform the country is the youth of Pakistan. He said that Pakistani youth is as talented as that of any other country.

Meanwhile, Provincial Minister for Education, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that future of Pakistan is linked with the education of new generation and the development in education sector will result in strengthening and prospering Pakistan. He said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, PML-N government will create such environment in Pakistan wherein future of the children will be protected and the people will earn their livelihood with dignity.

Rana Mashhood said that the governance in Punjab is much better than other provinces. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has allocated rupees twelve billion in the coming fiscal year from July for provision of potable water in every village and mohallah, installation of latest water filtration plants under “clean drinking water project” in every district of Punjab.

Governor Punjab Ch. Muhammad Sarwar, Minister Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman Qazi Group of Schools, Qazi Muhammad Naeeem Anjum and President Anjuman-e-Tajran Khalid Pervaiz gave away medals to the position holder of 9th and 10th classes students of Qazi Group of Schools.

Renowned Publisher Khalid Pervaiz announced to give cash prize of rupees one lakh from his own pocket to Moeez Naeem s/o Qazi Naeem Anjum, Group Chairman, on securing 2ndposition in the examination of 8th class.
