Committee constituted for Diamir Bhasha Dam visits the site

Lahore:  Members of the Committee constituted for Diamir Bhasha Dam led by MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif visited the site of proposed dam and adjacent residential colony. Chairman WAPDA Syed Raghib Abbas Shah and Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan Younas Dhagha gave detailed briefings to Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and members of the committee Ch. Saud Majeed, Ata Tarar and Malik Hassan Iqbal about the project.Hamza Shahbaz 1-4-14

Addressing the residents of  Thore Colony, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that Diamir Bhasha Dam is the backbone of national economy. He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has issued clear cut instructions to all concerned departments for ensuring timely construction of Diamir Bhasha Dam. He said that government of Pakistan considering the project vital for the development and prosperity of the country will spare no effort in its completion. He said that completion of Diamir Bhasha Dam will change the destiny of the country and its people.

Hamza Shahbaz said that government has evolved a comprehensive strategy for providing alternative residential facilities, job opportunities and other basic necessities of life to the people affected due to construction of Diamir Bhasha Dam. He disclosed that three model villages will be constructed in the area where schools, hospitals and job opportunities will be provided to the residents. He said that timely completion of all schemes to be launched for the welfare of the affectees will be ensured.

Hamza Shahbaz assured the local people that their genuine demands with regard to alternative residences and rehabilitation will be fulfilled. He said that new era of development and prosperity of the country will usher in due to construction of Diamir Bhasha Dam. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is working round the clock for resolving all problems including energy crisis being faced by the country. He said that people have complete confidence in the sincere and untiring efforts of its leadership. He said that the day is not far off when Pakistan will make rapid progress.
