Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here today which was especially participated by Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq.
Chief Secretary Punjab, Inspector General Police, DG Rangers, IG Railway, Secretary Home and other concerned officials were also present. The meeting reviewed the measures taken in the Punjab province for the protection of railway track and installations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister assured that all out cooperation would be extended to Railways Ministry for the protection of railway track. While constituting committee headed by Secretary Home, he directed the committee to submit its report within seven days so that a future strategy could be adopted for this purpose.
Railway Minister Kh. Saad Rafique said that an effective patrolling system has been evolved for protection of railway track. He said that Punjab government led by Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has fully supported Ministry of Railways for which he is thankful to Shahbaz Sharif.
CM also presides over a high level meeting with regard to Bab-e-Pakistan project, here today. Secretary Information gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister about Bab-e-Pakistan project.
The meeting decided to set up Bab-e-Pakistan Foundation whereas other proposals were also considered. Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Members Assembly Yasin Sohal, Mian Naseer Ahmad, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Communication & Works, Secretary Information, Secretary Sports, Special Secretary Finance, Commissioner Lahore and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
