PU CCP training course concludes

Lahore: Punjab University Centre for clinical psychology (CCP) hosted the closing ceremony of certificate training course on eidetic psychotherapy and eidetic model of growth here on Friday.

The certificate training course was conducted by Mr Akhtar Ali Syed and Ms Shazia Neelofur, Principal Clinical Psychologists from Brothers of Charity Services, Ireland Republic from 20th to 28th march 2014.

The course was conducted in collaboration with International Imagery Association, USA and Pakistan Association of Clinical Psychologists and the course was funded by Higher Education Commission Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by the chief guest Nazeer Hussain, Director , HEC Regional Centre, Lahore , Special Guest, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Akhtar, Dean faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar, Director Centre for Clinical Psychology, Principal Organizer Prof. Dr. Farah Malik Institute of Applied Psychology, the faculty of Institute of Applied Psychology and Centre for Clinical Psychology.

Principal Organizer Prof. Dr. Farah Malik presented her welcome note and introduced the resource persons to the guests. She stated Pakistan has been presented positively in countries like Ireland by people like  Akhtar Ali and Ms Shazia Neelofur as they got higher education from University of the Punjab, Lahore and practiced the eidetic model of growth for the first time.

Director CCP Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar highlighted the importance of model of eidetic psychotherapy especially used for the children with intellectual disability, autism and learning disabilities like dyslexia, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Dr Nashi Khan, President, Pakistan association of Clinical Psychologists presented the vote of thanks to all the guests, collaborators and the students and professional who attended the workshop and played key role in its success.

The chief guest Mr Nazeer Hussain, Director, HEC Regional Centre, Lahore , acknowledged the efforts of organizing academic activities in the University of the Punjab and especially Centre for Clinical Psychology. He also mentioned that HEC has many projects in pipeline to improve the quality of education. He added that participants should replicate the knowledge they gained from this course to the community at large for the betterment of society.

The Special Guest, Prof. Dr. Tanveer Akhtar, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, congratulated and wished all the participants for the future endeavors.
