The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the schedule of captains’ pre-tournament media conferences and open media sessions that will take place in the lead up to the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014, which will start with the first round matches on 16 March.
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim will kick-off the activities when he will hold his pre-tournament media conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday 9 March at 1215.
On 10 March, Nepal captain Paras Khadka will hold his pre-tournament press conference at Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel at 1015. This presser will be immediately followed by a combined open media session in the Balcony Room of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel. Nasir Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan and Abdur Razzak of Bangladesh and Nepal’s Gyanendra Malla and Pradeep Airee will attend this activity.
Also at the Ruposhi Bangla hotel in Dhaka on the same day, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) captains will hold their pre-tournament media conferences, which will be followed by open media sessions. These activities will start in the Marble Room at 1500.
In Chittagong on 10 March, Afghanistan Netherlands, Hong Kong and Zimbabwe captains will hold their pre-tournament press conferences, which will be followed by open media sessions.

Media accreditation
Meanwhile, the ICC has also announced that the tournament media passes will be ready for collection from Sunday 9 March from accreditation centres the media selected during the online application process. Media are advised to bring with them a photographic ID. Media will not be allowed to collect their colleagues’ passes.
Like the previous ICC events and due to limited spaces in the press boxes, there will be a ticketing system in place for the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2014. As such, the media will be advised via email in due course as to which tournament matches they have been accredited for.
