Quality coaches can develop women football in Pakistan

Pakistan football team's Bahraini coach Mohammed Shamlan and Karachi-based Marta Women Football Club's President Raees KhanKARACHI: Pakistan football team’s Bahraini coach Mohammed Shamlan had  a meeting with the Karachi-based Marta Women Football Club’s President Raees Khan here at a local hotel the other day.

During an hour-long meeting both discussed various issues relating to women football in Pakistan.

Shamlan said that women football could develop in Pakistan if quality coaches are provided to different teams.

“There may be talent but it is necessary to have quality coaches. One cannot develop a team without a qualified and quality coach,” Shamlan said.

Raees also presented his club’s souvenir to the coach.

Shamlan, who has been appointed as Pakistan coach in last August, is in the port city these days to witness the Premier League matches.

Raees thanked Shamlan for giving him time and also invited him for witnessing a training session of the Marta Women FC at the Agha Khan Gymkhana Ground.
