Ulema’s cooperation in restoring peace is appreciable:Manika

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Ata Muhammad Manika has said that Rawalpindi incident is a tragic one and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, with the cooperation of ulema, is making sincere efforts for maintaining brotherhood and religious harmony in the province so that the nation could be united on one platform by foiling nefarious designs of enemies.

He said this while talking to the ulema of various schools of thought who met him at his residence today. Provincial Minister said that Punjab is a haven of religious harmony and tolerance. He said that people are living in Punjab together for centuries and the change of various civilizations and culture have further improved social beauty of the Punjab province. He said that Punjab has become an example of cultural and religious harmony in South Asia. He said that ulema should preach the people that sectarianism is a menace which is weakening our roots, therefore, we have to defeat it collectively.

Provincial Minister while appreciating the positive response of ulema on Juma tul Mubarak said that ulema have given proof of responsibility and a message to the world by remaining peaceful that Pakistan is a safe and peaceful country.
