Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while expressing his satisfaction over the overall law and order situation during Ashra-e-Muharram and Youm-e-Ashur throughout Punjab has appreciated the performance of the administration of the province. In a statement, he thanked Almighty Allah that the overall law and order situation remained satisfactory in the province during Ashra-e-Muharram. He said that except the tragic incident in Rawalpindi, all functions of Ashura-e-Muharram ended peacefully throughout the province and no untoward incident happened.
The Chief Minister said that this is a matter of satisfaction for us all, upon which, he is thankful to the administration, security agencies, police, government officers and officials of the province on their effective arrangements and round the clock hardworking. He also thanked ulema of all schools of thought who played their effective role for the success of efforts of Ittehad Bain ul Muslameen.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif also paid rich tributes to the people of Punjab and thanked them for displaying great unity during Ashra-e-Muharram.
The Chief Minister said that elements involved in the tragic incident of Rawalpindi will be awarded deterrent punishment.
