Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has appealed to the people to forge unity and maintain brotherhood in their ranks.
In an appeal issued from Chief Minster’s Office today, the Chief Minister said that every Pakistani is grieved over Rawalpindi incident. He said that the persons involved in this incident are enemy of both Pakistan and Islam. He said that people of Pakistan have played their due role for the stability and dignity of the country and the nation by rising above sectarian approach in all phases of national history. He expressed the hope that by stitching to this role, they will foil nefarious designs of those elements as are creating hurdles in the way of national development and prosperity by disrupting the atmosphere of brotherhood and tolerance in Pakistan. He said that the enemies of Pakistan want to achieve their ulterior motives through destroying public peace by fanning the sectarian differences.
Shahbaz Sharif has especially appealed to ulema to play their positive role for the promotion of sentiment of unity and brotherhood among the people. He said the government and the people expect from the ulema of all schools of thought that they will discharge their national responsibilities towards promoting public peace and normalizing the situation in their respective areas.
