CM distributes commendatory certificates among Assembly members

Lahore: A function was held by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for encouraging the assembly members elected from Shalamar Town, town officers and officials for showing outstanding performance during anti-dengue campaign at Model Town, here today.

The Chief Minister gave away commendatory certificates to MNA Pervaiz Malik, Shaista Pervaiz Malik, MPA Ch. Shahbaz, Bao Akhtar and town staff. While appreciating their untiring efforts during anti-dengue campaign Shahbaz Sharif said that elected representatives and government officials have shown best performance for the elimination of dengue at Shalamar Town. He said that elected representatives and government officials serving the people are our pride and they would be fully encouraged in future as well.

The Chief Minister while announcing development funds of two crore rupees each for MNA and MPAs of the area said that elected representatives should carry out further development work in the area through these funds as they have set an example by working day and night during anti-dengue campaign upon which he congratulates the elected representatives and staff of Shalamar Town. He said that the way Shalamar Town worked with devotion and spirit of public service during the anti-dengue campaign is worth emulating for others. He said that the problems can be solved through the spirit of public service.

Shahbaz Sharif warned that strict action would be taken against those not activating volunteer force. He said that those showing negligence would be held accountable. However, the performance of Punjab with regard to anti-dengue has remained better than other provinces, he added. He said that if compared with Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Indonesia, the death rate in Punjab is low than the prescribed index of WHO with regard to anti-dengue. However, loss of even a single human life is very tragic, he added.
MNA Pervaiz Malik told on the occasion that under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif anti-dengue campaign has been continued. He said that work was done with team spirit in Shalamar Town which yielded positive results. He thanked Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for encouragement. He said that without the leadership of Chief Minister, it was not possible to continue this work. He said that whatever targets will be fixed by the leadership, will be certainly achieved and we will improve our performance. He said that Shahbaz Sharif has won their hearts through encouragement.
