Negligence will be tolerated in the treatment of dengue patients

Minister Health-2 Minister Health (4)Lahore: Provincial Minister for Health, Khalil Tahir Sindhu has directed administrations of all the government hospitals to strictly implement the prescribed protocol regarding treatment of dengue patients. He said that no leniency will be tolerated in the treatment of dengue patients.

He expressed these views while talking to media-men after inquiring about the health of dengue patients in Jinnah Hospital and Sheikh Zayed Hospital today. The Minister went to Jinnah Hospital first where suspected dengue patients have been admitted in different wards. He directed the Medical Superintendent to shift all dengue patients in an isolated ward. While taking serious notice of the complaints of the patients regarding non-availability of free test facility in the hospital, directed Special Secretary Health Babar Hayat Tarar on telephone to conduct inquiry within 12 hours and after fixing responsibility, take action against the concerned doctors. Medical Superintendent Dr. Rauf told that only one confirmed and nine suspected dengue patients are under treatment in the hospital.

Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is worried about the dengue patients and directed that every possible effort should be made to save the precious life of patients. He said that the Chief Minister is in constant contact with Ministers, public representatives and government officers for monitoring dengue situation.

Later, Khalil Tahir Sandhu also visited Sheikh Zayed Hospital and inquired after the health of two suspected dengue patients. Doctors told the Health Minister that the tests of dengue patients have been sent to laboratories and on the reports of the tests, the disease will be diagnosed.
