Babur Girgin calls on Chairman LTC

Lahore: Ambassador of Turkey in Pakistan, Mr. S. Babur Girgin called on Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and cooperation for investment by Turk institutions in transport, solid waste management and other sectors. Members Assembly Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, Ramzan Bhatti and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion. Welcoming the Turk Ambassador, Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan said that the active cooperation of Turk companies with Punjab government in various sectors including metro bus service, solid waste management, landfill sites is commendable. He said that modern cleanliness system has been introduced in Lahore through Turk companies and its scope is being extended in other big cities of Punjab including Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sialkot. Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan said that the brotherly, religious, cultural and historic relations of Pakistan with Turkey have now changed into strong economic ties. He said that the contacts between both the countries have been entered into a new era due to the efforts of the present leadership of Pakistan and Turkey. He  said that Punjab government is benefiting the expertise and experiences of Turkey in transport, solid water management and other sectors and after the success and importance of metro bus service, metro railway project is being launched in Lahore with the cooperation of Turkey. He said that some considerable progress has been made with regard to this project during the visit of a delegation of Lahore Transport Company to Turkey last month. He said that Lahore Metro Railway project with the cooperation of Turkey will provide modern and speedy traveling facilities to the people. While speaking on the occasion, Turkish Ambassador S. Babur Girgin said that Turkey will further promote cooperation in every sector with Pakistan especially with Punjab government in various projects. He said that like past the government and people of Turkey will continue to play their role for progress and prosperity of Pakistan in future. He said that as an Ambassador, he will play his active role for further strengthening the relations between both the countries. Later, Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan hosted a luncheon in honour of Turk Ambassador which was attended by Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Transport, MD Lahore Transport Company and heads of various companies.
