Lahore impresses Raghavan

CM PUNJAB.with indian high commissionerLahore: Indian High Commissioner T.C.A. Raghavan met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting.

Welcoming the Indian High Commissioner in Lahore, the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that India and Pakistan should resolve all issues through composite dialogue in the interest of progress and prosperity and durable peace in the region. He said that wars have given nothing to the two countries and now peace should be given a chance. He said that India and Pakistan should wage a joint struggle against poverty, ignorance, disease and backwardness and solution to all issues including Kashmir through composite dialogue is essential. He said that the recent meeting between Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan augurs well.

Referring to metro bus project, Shahbaz Sharif said that this splendid project of public welfare has been completed in a record period of eleven months and lakhs of passengers are benefiting from metro bus system. He said that metro bus service is providing safe, comfortable, inexpensive and speedy traveling facilities to the masses and this project can be compared with any project of the developed world.

Indian High Commissioner T.C.A. Raghavan while speaking on the occasion said that he is happy to visit Lahore. He said that he was deeply impressed with metro bus project. He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has made Lahore a developed city in the real sense and Indian citizens should visit Lahore to see development projects. He said that he had come to Lahore in 2006 and the city has completely changed within seven years.

Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan and Member National Assembly Pervaiz Malik were also present on the occasion.
