EDO Gujrat gave forcible holiday for welcoming Hamza

Lahore: Students, parents and teachers have strongly protested against forced holiday in all govt and private educational institutions of Gujrat to welcome Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and taking the teachers and students to the public meeting.

Pakistan Muslim League -Q  leader and former Provincial Education Minister Mian Imran Masood has said that EDO Gujrat had issued a written order for forcible holiday on Tuesday (Oct 1) in all govt and private colleges and schools on Tuesday without giving any reason for this.

He said in a statement issued in Gujrat today that the heads of educational institutions were informed about this order issued in flagrant violations of all laws and regulations but the parents and students were not informed, EDO had personally visited the educational institutions and also issued verbal order that all teachers will not only welcome the son of the Punjab Chief Minister but also attend the public meeting and warned of very harsh action on violation of this order. He said that when parents had their small children to schools only then they also came to know about this forced holiday and they protested strongly against this sudden closure of educational institutions without any prior information.

Expressing great concern over this situation, Mian Imran Masood said that even the local govt employees were also taken to the venue of the public meeting to add colours to it.
