He expressed sorrow and grief over the recent destruction due to earthquake in Balochistan and said that though human losses cannot be compensated but Punjab will not leave its Baloch brethren alone in this hour of need. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has vowed to help the Baloch brethren and Punjab will provide all possible support to Balochistan government to fulfill their needs. He said that 30 trucks of edibles, blankets, medicines, tents and mosquito nets have been sent to Balochistan while 20 trucks are in the process of dispatch.
Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani said that Punjab government is arranging all those items which have been mentioned by Chief Minister Balochistan. He further said that Punjab government has already announced construction of model villages and hospital with latest equipment in the affected areas and soon a team of experts will contact Balochistan government for its practical implementation.
Earlier, while giving briefing to the delegation, Commissioner Awaran informed that areas of Khuzdar, Mashkeel, Mangol and Awaran have been affected by recent earthquake but Awaran district is worst-hit and 196 trucks of relief items from all over Pakistan have reached these areas.
Deputy Speaker informed that relief items from Punjab are being delivered to Karachi through Chief Minister’s helicopter while these items are being sent to affected areas through trucks without any delay and provincial ministers of Punjab, members assembly and senior officers are monitoring relief activities and performing shift wise duties for immediate supply of relief goods.
Chief Minister Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch while thanking Punjab for extending generous support at this hour of trial said that Balochistan government needs vast resources for rehabilitation of affectees and federation and head of Punjab government Mian Shahbaz Sharif are taking further measures for immediate rehabilitation of affected areas for which people of Balochistan and government are thankful.
