Lahore: Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Baitul Mall, Ata Muhammad Manika has said that Muslim saints set glorious examples of social service and public welfare and the Pakistani youth should follow in their footsteps so that the goal of progress and prosperity could be achieved.
He stated this while talking to a 15-member delegation of NGOs in his office today. The Minister said that the youth should be equipped with education for the uplift of every sector of life and prosperity of the country. He emphasized upon NGOs to become active for the technical and educational training of the youth and prepare them for the development and service of the country. He said present government by allocating huge funds for the education sector has proved that by equipping the youth with education, revolution can be brought in technical sector and unemployment be eliminated from the country.
He said that Social Welfare Department is imparting technical education to thousands of young boys and girls along with science education in its institutions. Similarly, education is also being provided to the handicapped persons who will earn their livelihood instead of becoming a burden on their parents, he added.
