Shahbaz Sharif inspects the site for Solar Park

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif inspected the site for Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park at Din Garh Yazman after his visit to flood affected areas in Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur.

Talking to the journalists on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the project of generating 1000 megawatt electricity initially from solar park would be launched soon. He said that this project comprising an area of ten thousand acres of Cholistan would be converted into a lush green horticulture village where all necessary facilities including infrastructure, roads, water filtration plants, park, community center, mosque and dispensary would be available.

He said that jobs would be given to the local people of Cholistan on priority basis in Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park project. He said that this project would be completed on war-footings and strict monitoring of development works would be done besides conducting third party audit for maintaining transparency. He said that room has been left for extension of solar park project in future.

Shahbaz Sharif said that security of engineers and foreign investors on Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park project would be ensured. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Capt. Retd. Asadullah Khan while giving briefing on the occasion informed that Cholistan is spread over an area of 66 lakh, 50 thousand acres and its population consists of two lakh persons. He further informed that solar heat in Din Garh is from 10 to 12 hours which is very suitable for the plant.
