PML-Q rejects parliamentary committee to probe rigging

ch shujaat hussain is presiding over an important party meeting in lahoreLahore: A consultative meeting was held under the chairmanship of Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain at his residence here today which was attended by present and former members of the parliament and the provincial assemblies.

Addressing the meeting, Ch Shujat Hussain said that in the presence of the judiciary and the Election Commission there was no justification for the parliamentary committee, announcement by the govt to constitute a parliamentary committee in the context of the rigging in the elections that in fact is a new rigging for concealing the rigging in the elections, after lapse of two months suddenly setting up of the parliamentary committee is ridiculous, most of the candidates and the parties have already approached the Election Commission and the courts regarding rigging in the elections, these cases are being heard by the courts, what measures the parliamentary committee could take in this situation, members against whom the cases are in the courts are sitting in the assemblies how they would allow the committee proceedings to be effective.

Ch Shujat Hussain said that people have lost their patience, lawlessness, soaring prices of essential and other articles and increasing load shedding of electricity coupled with unemployment have made the life of the people miserable, in order to expose N-League wrong strategies and policies the Pakistan Muslim League will effectively and actively play the role of the opposition, PML will apprise the masses about wrong and defective policies of the N-League through media and voice will also be raised in this regard in the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Provincial Assemblies.
