Health department to ensure anti-malaria vaccine in the flood affected areas:CS Punjab

Chief Sec PunjabLahore: Chief Secretary Punjab Javed Aslam presided over the meeting to review the Flood arrangements in the province here on Saturday at Civil Secretariat, Lahore. Senior Member Board of Revenue Mr Nadeem Ashraf, Secretary Health Mr Hassan Iqbal, Secretary Higher Education ,Farhan Aziz Khawaja, Secretary Schools . Abdul Jabbar Shaheen, Secretary Local Government  Jawwad Rafique Malik and Secretary Information  Momin Agha attended the meeting.

Chief Secretary instructed the Health department to ensure anti-malaria vaccine in the flood affected areas. He said that district government and Health Department should make joint efforts to provide basic health facilities to the victims of flood at their camps through the mobile teams. He directed the Divisional Commissioners and district administrations of the concerned areas to provide clean drinking water to the people. He also stressed on Commissioners and Regional Police Officers to maintain law and order situation in the flood affected areas. He directed the District administration to monitor the flow of water in rivers and water channels round the clock and immediately inform the concerned institutions in case of any emergent situation. He said that concerned institutions should maintain a close contact with each other to control any untoward situation arising out of rains and potential floods.

The Chief Secretary further said that Divisional Commissioners, district administration and concerned institutions should remain fully alert to cope with any emergency. He said that relief activities rehabilitation work of the calamity- hit people is in full swing. He warned that no laxity or negligence would be tolerated in the relief and rehabilitation activities for the flood affectees. He said that government functionaries should make all out efforts for the permanent rehabilitation of the affected areas.
