LHC to provide books for BAR libraries

Lahore: On the direction of Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial all the District and Tehsil Bar Associations of Province are being provided books for their libraries as a gift from Lahore High Court.

Hon’ble Chief Justice has desired the judges of LHC to give books to the Bar representatives in their respective districts under their inspection. So far Justice Sheikh Najam-ul-Hassan, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, Justice Anwar ul Haq, Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sidhu, Justice Abdul  Sattar Asghar, Justice Abdul Sami Khan, Justice Ayesha A. Malik and Justice Shoaib Saeed have successfully supervised distribution of the law books to 56 district/tehsil Bars.

Earlier practice was to give away cheques to the Bars for library books. Lastly, at the end of financial year, Hon’ble Chief Justice gave Rs. 1.75 lakh to each district Bar and 1.25 lakh to tehsil Bar through Punjab Bar Council. But now Lahore High Court asked all district and tehsil Bars to submit their demand of requisite books and according to the need of Bars, the law books are being supplied to them.
