Punjab displayed maturity in the elections: Nawaz Sharif

nawaz sharifLahore: We have inherited huge problems, but, by the grace of God, we shall succeed in ameliorating the miserable state of affairs prevalent in the country. Even those who didn’t vote for us expect us to steer the country out of the troubled waters, and we shall not disappoint them. The Punjab displayed maturity in the elections, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa displayed emotionality, Sind stuck to its traditional ways and Baluchistan returned its verdict in our favour by the grace of God. What we need now is patience and strong determination to change our life for the better. China is co-operating with Pakistan whole-heartedly and we are working on such a project as would change the destiny of our homeland. Those responsible for power-stealing and land-losses must be brought to book. Reserve your congratulations for the day when my government will have resolved all the problems being faced by you. These were the thoughts and ideas expressed by Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at a special function arranged on the occasion of “Yaum-i-Takbeer” at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan, Shahrah-i-Quaid-i-Azam, Lahore.

The function was presided over by Dr. Majid Nizami, a zealous worker of the Pakistan Movement, illustrious journalist and Chairman, the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust; Col. (r) Jamshaid Ahmad Tareen, Chairmn, Pakistan Movement Workers Trust; Begum Majida Wyne, Vice Chairperson of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust;Muhammad Rafique Tarar, former President Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Syed Ghous Ali Shah, former Chief Minister and President Muslim League Sind; Nawab Ghous Buksh Barozai, Caretaker Chief Minister of Baluchistan; Sartaj Aziz, former Treasury Minister, Senator Parvez Rasheed; Syed Faseeh Iqbal, Editor-in-Chief o the daily Baluchistan and the daily Zaman, Quetta; Lt.-Gen. (r) Zulfiqar Ali Khan; Professor Dr. Muhajid Kamran; Vice Chancellor University of the Punjab; Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Speaker Punjab Assembly; Mian Farooq Altaf, Chief Coordinator of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust; Justice (R) Munir Ahmad Mughal; Ghulam Dastgheer Khan, a prominent Muslim League leader; Engineer Khuram Dastgheer Khan; Maj.-Gen. (r) Rahat Latif; Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali; Parvaiz Malik; Begum Sakeena Shaheen Khan;  Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz; Rana Muhamad Arshad; Dr. M. A Sufi; Col. (r) Ikram Ullah Khan; Prof. Dr. Ajmal Niazi; Naseeb Ullah Gardezi; Khursheed Ahamd, Labour Leader; Prof. Dr. Parveen Khan; Rana Muhammad Siddique Khan; Sardar Shuja ud deen; Molana Muhammad Shafi Josh; Hanif Shahid and a large numbers of members of the provincial and national assembly along with innumerable Muslim League workers.

The programme was conducted by Mr. Shahid Rasheed, Secretary to the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust.

Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif remarked that the “Yaum-i-Takbeer” is celebrated every year under the guidance of Dr. Majid Nizami at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan and that he had come to participate in this special function in compliance of Dr. Majid Nizami’s wishes. He said he was extremely happy to address the audience once again.
Yom-e-Takbeer
On May 28, 2013, Pakistan had attained the status of the seventh nuclear power by carrying out nuclear explosions. But its condition has gone from had to worse since then. We must analyse the situation carefully and discover the reasons for this sorry state of affairs. Other nuclear powers including India were doing better than Pakistan where people are going through physical and mental torture due to long hours of load-shedding and unemployment. He remarked he could had a peaceful life without having to worry about the sufferings of his countrymen, but it was natural for him to have compassion for the masses, which keeps him awake at night compelling him to work out solutions to the problems of his countrymen. He displayed a fine sense of humor when be observed that even those who didn’t vote for him, have great expectations of him and that he would try his level best to come up to their expectations. He appreciated those who cast their ballot in his favour. He was full of praise for the masses who had returned a very sensible and mature verdict. However, he warned that it takes time to solve the problems.

The former rulers had ignored the problems facing the country and, as a result, the new government will inherit all the problems. He said that his government will have no stone unturned to bring relief to the masses. He referred to a great dream of his which, he said, was going to materialize by the grace of God. He did not, however, enunciate what the dream was. He only referred to his extremely successful meeting with the Chinese Prime Minister. He remarked that the Pak-China co-operation will, if God wishes, bring prosperity and progress to Pakistan doing away with unemployment, poverty and power-failures. He said that the completion of the Bhasha Dam required another 10 to 15 billion dollars.

Those responsible for power-stealing and line-losses must be brought to book. He paid tribute to Shabaz Sharif for completing the Metrobus project in eleven months, whereas normally it would have taken at last 3 to 4 years. He passionately remarked that he would utilize the indigenous as well as the foreign talent in order to steer Pakistan out of the troubled waters. He said he would ask China and Turkey to initiate projects suited to the needs and genius of Pakistan. He said he would himself supervise those projects and ensure their completion in a record time. In an emotional tone, he asked the audience not to congratulate him now but to save their blessings for the day when all their problems will have been solved.

Dr. Majid Nizami remarked that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had made Pakistan impregnable by carried out the nuclear explosions. He rejected the temptation of a huge amount of money. He asked Mian Nawaz Sharif to be wary of India who was our eternal enemy. We must recover Kashmir even if we have to resort to the use of nuclear weapons.

Syed Ghous Ali Shah praised Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for carrying out the atomic explosions. He paid glowing tribute to him for becoming the Prime Minister for the third time.

Sartaj Aziz observed that Mian Nawaz Sharif changed the history of the region by making nuclear explosions I hope that he will surely carry out an economic explosion and take Pakistan to the heights of economic prosperity and progress.

Nawab Ghaus Buksh Barozai, the caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan said that he was proud of being the chief minister of the province where the atomic explosions were carried out.

Prof. Dr. Rafique Ahmad, Vice Chairman of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust remarked that the trust was acquainting the new generation with the purpose of the creation of Pakistan. He praised Mian Nawaz Sharif for ensuring the safety and security of Pakistan by making nuclear explosions.

Lt.-Gen. (r) Zulfiqar Ali khan paid a rich tribute to the scientists who enabled Pakistan to carry out the nuclear explosions in response to those of India. He also appreciated the courage of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for carried out the nuclear explosions.

Mr. Shahid Rasheed, secretary to the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust welcomed Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and thanked him for making Pakistan the seventh nuclear power of the world and first nuclear power of the world of Islam. He also paid a rich tribute to Dr. Majid Niazmi who had encourage Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to go ahead with the explosions without paying any attention to the threats that were being received from all over the world.
