Government would implement the court orders:Arif Nizami

Arif NizamiLahore: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Arif Nizami Friday said that the caretaker government would implement the court orders regarding the former president Pervez Musharaf, in letter and spirit.

The former president could not be spared from law, he said. He said that issue of escaping of Musharaf from court was being probed. Talking to a private TV channel, Nizami said that Ministry of Interior was also assuring the security of Pervez Musharaf as he was under terrorist threat.

He claimed that caretaker government was neutral in performing day-to-day functions in the country. Replying to a question regarding secret funds in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, he said that issue was sub-judice and the caretaker government would implement court orders in letter and spirit in this regard.

The caretaker government would stop the use of secret funds in the Ministry, he added. Nizami said  the agenda of caretaker government was to maintain law and order and hold polls in free, fair and transparent manner in the country. He strongly condemned the terrorist incidents in Balochistan and Peshawar, adding that some elements in the country wanted to derail the electoral process. He stressed on the need of cooperation among all political parties to maintain peace and tranquility during the electoral process.

He said that Adviser to the Finance Ministry, Shahid Anwar was a qualified person.
