Government is adopting every step to conduct fair elections: Shams Mirza

Minister Law PunjabLahore:  Punjab Law Minister Shams Mehmood Mirza has said that the caretaker government is adopting every step to conduct fair, free and transparent elections, in a peaceful atmosphere. He said that legal community as well as all segments of the society are providing their cooperation to the government for free-fair election so that to transfer power to the elected representatives. He said that all possible steps would be taken to give the powers of deed writing to the lawyers community.

The Minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation of High Court Bar Association Multan, during which President Bar Association Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi Advocate and Secretary General Malik Aamir Mazhar including 10-member delegation of High Court Bar Association Multan were present. The Minister said that general elections are being held under the supervision of an impartial caretaker government in accordance with a constitutional amendment. He said that the caretaker government is amicably discharging its national duty in this regard. He said the caretaker government is also adopting policy of austerity.

The President of High Court Bar Multan Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi Advocate extended wholehearted cooperation of lawyers’ community to the caretaker government for ensuring fair, free and impartial elections. He said lawyers would extend all out assistance to the caretaker government to hold timely general elections so that, an elected government can assume its responsibilities after general elections. The minister ensured the delegation that their demands would be fulfilled in accordance to the Law, Rules & Regulations.
