Najam Sethi calls on Imran Khan

CM PUNJABLahore: Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister, Najam Sethi met Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Imran Khan on Friday afternoon at his residence in Islamabad. Matters relating to ensuring holding of transparent and fair general elections were discussed during the meeting. Senior leaders of Tehrik-e-Insaaf Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jehangir Khan Tareen were also present on the occasion.

Caretaker Chief Minister reiterated to take all possible steps for holding transparent and impartial elections in the province. Najam Sethi said that his meetings with political leaders are aimed at discussing proposals with regard to holding general elections in a transparent and impartial manner. He assured that he will try to come up to the confidence reposed by political parties in him and remain impartial as caretaker Chief Minister. He assured that if any political party has reservations, these will be removed and the persons of good repute will be inducted in the cabinet.

Imran Khan while talking on the occasion said that independent judiciary, impartial Election Commission and caretaker set up has been established at federal and provincial level for the first time in the country and expressed the hope that elections will be held in a transparent and impartial manner. He also expressed his confidence in caretaker Chief Minister Najam Sethi that in his presence, free and fair elections will be held in Punjab.
