Lahore: Secretary General,Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said the JI would go for countrywide seat adjustment with only one party and there wont be an alliance with any party for a few seats. He was talking to the media at the Sessions Court after filing his nomination papers for the NA 126 here.
Liaqat Baloch said that the JI was also in touch with the PML(N), the PTI and the religious parties. He said the political committee of the JI would soon complete its work on seat adjustments and its report would be presented to the central committee after which the final decision would be announced. He however added that there wont be seat adjustment with the PML(Q) that had been a part of the outgoing regime which had plundered national wealth and made the country bankrupt.
He said, the nation was eyeing the election scene with great interest and seat adjustments between different parties was very important in the present situation where no single party was in a position to contest election independently. He said the JI had already announced its candidates for the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies seats who had begun their election campaign.
He said the JI election manifesto promised eradication of illiteracy and poverty besides provision of employment for all strata of life. It also promised bringing down the POL prices and waving off Sales Tax on the utilities bills.
