Lahore: A fun fair and book exhibition was arranged in New Government Amir-ud-Din Medical College PGMI which has been established on the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. The fun fair and book exhibition was inaugurated by during which Principal of college Prof. Dr. Anjum Habib Vohra, Prof. Ghias-un-Nabi Tayyab and other members of the faculty were present.
Talking to the media representatives, Secretary Health said that it is matter of great happiness for the girls and boys students of new medical college set up in Lahore which has provided them opportunity to acquire education in medical sector, along with participating in beautiful and colorful fun fair of the spring season. Arif Nadeem visited various stalls set up in books exhibition and fun fair. The students had set up various stalls highlighting traditional culture and living of rural areas of Punjab, while decorated a pleasant atmosphere by wearing beautiful and fancy dresses and decorating stalls with utensils used in rural life, which was deeply appreciated by those who visited the fair. During the fair, beautiful dressing was made by boys and girls for spring season, while few girls were wearing bridle dress. Stalls for edibles were also set up in the fair.
In the books exhibition, mostly books related to the medical research and international medical journals have been placed at the stalls. Secretary Health said that such fun fairs and books exhibition in educational institutions help younger generation to understand the culture along with promoting extracurricular activities and providing healthy recreational opportunities for them. Secretary Health said that the culture of reading books is decreasing due to promotion of computer technology but it is the need of the hour to promote reading habit. He said the importance of book is well established despite modern scientific progress. He said the younger generation should also read books on Islamic history, geography and sub-continental history along with their professional subjects so a spirit to love and serve their own country should be remain ever young in their hearts.
