7died,353 injured in road accidents in Punjab today

Lahore: The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) alone has managed 466 Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs) in all Districts of the Punjab in last 24 hours, in which Seven precious lives were lost and 353 victims were seriously injured whereas 183 minor injured were provided first aid at the accidents’ site by rescue officials across the Province.

These 466 accidents affected 95 pedestrians; 290 passengers and 168 drivers. Some 131 RTAs took place in Lahore placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 50 in Faisalabad, 21 in Multan and 35 in Gujranwala.

According to the statistics collected by Provincial Monitoring Cell of the Rescue 1122, out of total 543 RTA’s victims, 443 were males and 97 females, while age group of the victims show that 91 were under 18 year of age, 337 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 113 victims were reported above 40 years.

The vehicles involved in traffic accidents included motorbikes, auto rickshaws, motor cars, tractors, passenger buses, trucks, slow moving vehicles and other types of auto vehicles.
