Raja missed last opportunity to apologize for plunder: JI

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the PPP led coalition government had set new record of loot and plunder but the Prime Minister Raja missed the last opportunity to apologize for that.

The Zardari government looted the public exchequer with both hands from the day one and even drew out its last penny on the last day while the Sindh Assembly, most shamelessly, enhanced the salaries and perks of its members from forty to sixty per cent with effect from July 2011, he said. He was addressing a big public meeting at Jail Chowk, Gujrat, at the start of the JI election campaign.

Nuclear scientist and father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb, Dr A. Qadeer Khan, in his address on the occasion, said he had come to the masses with the JI leadership in order to assess how much love the masses had for him. He said, the nation must prove in the elections that it stood with those who wanted to safeguard the country’s existence and built it as a truly Islamic and developed state. He made am impassioned appeal to the nation not to treat him in the way the people of Kufa had treated Imam Husain. He said that he had brought to an end New Delhi’s threats to this country by making the nuclear bomb and added that if the nation supported the JI candidates, the energy crisis in the country would be overcome within the shortest time and the country’s sovereignty and integrity would be fully protected. A time would come when the youth from the other countries could visit Pakistan in search of jobs and investment.

Dr A. Q. Khan said he would go to villages and towns with Syed Munawar Hasan to impress upon the people that they should not exe their own feet by voting for the plunderers again.

Syed Munawar Hasan said, the nation expected the Prime Minister to tender an apology for the failures of his government but it was stunned when the Premier began to recount the so called achievements of his government. He said that the five years’ period of the PPP led government had seen drone attacks, target killings, lawlessness, terrorism and extremism, energy crisis and price spiral. On the other hand, the ruling junta had been busy in loot ad plunder.

The JI Ameer said that the masses wont allow the federal and the Punjab governments to compromise in regard to the care taker government, and if the major parties tried to befool the people on this score, it would give rise to misgivings. He said that the ruling parties had been exploiting the general public in the name of mutual accommodation. In Sindh, the PPP and the MQM had placed the masses at the mercy of target killers, extortionists and the land mafia. However, the people wont allow this game any more.

He said that the formation of a truly impartial care taker government and fair, free and transparent elections could save the country from anarchy and turmoil. He said that all those who had been playing with the destiny of the nation should lose their securities in the elections. He said only Mr Zardari could explain who was the greatest beneficiary of the Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. However, he said, the nation could not expect much from the party that had failed to trace the killers of its leader during its five year rule.

The JI Ameer noted that the Supreme Court orders for fresh delimitations of constituencies and verification of votes by the army in Karachi had not been fully implemented as would affect the transparency of elections.

Speaking on the occasion, JI Naib Ameer and JI nominee for Chief Minster slot, Sirajul Haq said urged the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court not to allow the plunderers to flee from the country. He said that the nation was determined to take out every penny from the bellies of the corrupt rulers.
