Lahore: Member National Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said that the houses of affectees of Badami Bagh incident will be reconstructed but we will also have to share their vows and besides rehabilitating Joseph Colony, the hearts of Christian community will also have to be revitalized as Allah Almighty and His Prophet (PBUH) has given the lesson of tolerance, forbearance, love and mutual respect. He said that there is a dire need to act upon this fundamental message of Islam.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif expressed these views while addressing a gathering in connection with “tolerance day” at Badshahi Mosque, today. Ulema belonging to different schools of thought and leaders attended the gathering. Bishop Azad Marshal, Head Garanthi Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sardar Janam Singh, Khateeb Badshahi Mosque Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad and Maulana Tahir Asharfi addressed on the occasion. Mian Marghoob MNA was also present. A large number of people belonging to various religions attended the gathering.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that Islam gives us lesson of love and brotherhood among human beings and respect to each others’ religions. He said that Islam prohibits the killing of innocent people on the basis of sect and religion. He said that we should follow this basic lesson of our religion that killing of a person is like killing of the entire humanity. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif said that those played the heinous role at Badami Bagh tragedy will be taken to task and the grievances of Christian community will be redressed. He said that PML-N will restore the confidence of the Christian brethren by making their financial loss good particularly compensating those affectees whose daughters’ dowry has lost. He said that the atmosphere of tolerance, forbearance, peace and brotherhood will be promoted throughout the country including Lahore. Later, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif offered Jumma prayers along with other leaders at Badshahi Mosque.
