JI urges Election Commission to take notice of pre polls rigging

Syed Munwar HasanLahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has
termed the regularization of the services of thousands of contract government employees by federal and provincial governments at this stage as political bribe and pre polls rigging, and has urged the Election Commission to take notice of that.

Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said that large number of contract employees were not getting salaries for months due to the poor financial position and these regular employees would become a permanent headache for the next government.

The JI Ameer objected to the inclusion of Dr Hafeez Sheikh’s name among the official nominees for the Care Taker Prime Minister slot. He said this had been done under the pressure of international financial institutions and it so appeared that the ruling alliance and the Opposition would agree on him in total disregard to the national interests.

He said only time would show how far the Election Commission was able to implement its decisions and in providing a neat and clean leadership to the nation.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the PPP’s new election manifesto promising Roti, Kapra and Makan, was a crude joke. He said that the same had been the PPP slogan from the very beginning. The PPP had been in power for four times but instead of implementing this programme, it had practically snatched these things from the masses and made life for them.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the masses would play an important role in the next elections and they must elect the JI candidates to ensure the country’s development and for a bright and secure future for the nation. It would be foolish to try those had been tried many a time, he added. He said the people who had been playing with the destiny of the nation for the last sixty five years had sold out the country to the IMF and the World Bank and burdened the nation under loans of trillions.

He said if the people wanted a change, they should come out in large numbers and press for ousting the corruption mafia and grabbers from the election arena. If the people voted the corrupt once again, it would be a deadly mistake. He said that all the political parties except the JI had been in power but the conditions in the country had been worsening day by day. Now was the time that the people kicked out the corruption mafia and the plunderer from the power.
