Healthy minds constitute healthy society:Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that healthy minds constitute healthy society. He said that Punjab government has spent billions of rupees for promotion of healthy activities and provision of recreational facilities to the masses throughout the province during last five years. He said that the beautiful parks and separate parks for women have been developed all over the Punjab where best recreational facilities have been provided. He said that transparency and quality has been maintained in development projects.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab government has made an agreement with Transparency International to judge the transparency of the three mega projects, metro bus, Ujala programme and laptops scheme under which development projects of more than Rs.36 billion have been given to this impartial international institution to judge the transparency. He disclosed that Transparency International has written letters to Deputy Prime Minister Pervaiz Elahi, Imran Khan and Federal Minister Qamar uz Zaman Kaira to give proof about any irregularity in these projects and if these people could not present proof of allegation of corruption, their statements about these projects will prove non–serious.

He was talking to media on the occasion of inaugurating ladies’ park at Tajpura Scheme and Gujjarpura today. The Chief Minister first inaugurated ladies park constructed on 17 kanal at Tajpura and later the park constructed on 20 kanal at Gujjarpura. Members Assembly Pervaiz Malik, Haji Allah Rakha, Ch. Tajamal Hussain, Ch. Shahbaz Ahmed, Ajasam Sharif, Shaista Pervaiz Malik, DG PHA, DG LDA, Kamran Lashari and a large number of women and children of the area were present.

Talking on the occasion, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that excellent and best parks have been developed for women at Tajpura Scheme and Gujjarpura which are gifts of Punjab government for people of these areas. He said that best facilities have been provided for women and children in these parks. He said that jogging track, walking way, badminton courts, gym, canteen and swings for children have been installed in these parks. He said that the women and children of these areas should enjoy these recreational facilities. Shahbaz Sharif said that equal development opportunities are being provided to the under developed areas at par with the developed ones. The Chief Minster said that beautiful ladies park at Tajpura and Gujjarpura are proof of it. He congratulated people of the area on completion of these parks and appreciated the efforts of district administration. Replying to a question about the statement of Federal Information Minister regarding the names of caretaker Prime Ministers, presented by PML-N, Shahbaz Sharif said that he had all respect for Qamar uz Zaman Kaira but he should first reply to the letter written by Transparency International.

Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited the park after inaugurating ladies’ park at Tajpura Scheme and reviewed the recreational facilities. He also played badminton. On this occasion, various women presented applications to the Chief Minister for resolution of their problems and he issued on the spot orders on these applications. Later the Chief Minister inaugurated the ladies’ park at Gujjarpura by unveiling the plaque and offered ‘dua’. He also inspected the park and played badminton there. The people welcomed enthusiastically their beloved Quaid by standing on the roofs of their houses, shops and streets. They were raising slogans Shahbaz Sharif Zindabad, Nawaz Sharif Zindabad, PML-N Zindabad. Women and children in the parks thanked the Chief Minister on constructing such beautiful park and said that he has won their hearts through constructing such beautiful parks and other projects and they are praying for him.
