Pakistan Muslim League-N leader, Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the young students are our asset therefore, it is necessary that they should take keen interest in education along with co-curricular activities for bright future of the country.
She was addressing a function in connection with Annual Meena Bazaar of Govt. Post Graduate Islamia College for Women, Cooper Road, here today. The function was attended by teachers and girl students in large number. Maryan Nawaz Sharif said that education plays an important role in the development of a country. She said history is witness to the fact that only those nations made progress which had equipped their students with education. She said that along with curricular activities, co-curricular activities are also important as these promote the capabilities of the students. She said that Punjab government has always given priority to education sector and setting up of Daanish schools and other educational projects are proof to its education friendship. She said that such projects would be continued in future as well and under the leadership of our leaders, the country will be transformed in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam.
Earlier, on her arrival, Maryam Nawaz was received by the Principal of the college. Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited 35 stalls of fun fair and lauded the quality of edibles besides purchasing jewelry and other items. She also signed autographs besides making photographs with the girl students. The girl students presented fancy dress shows and skits. Later, commendatory certificates were distributed among the female students.
