PPP believes in people’s power: Kaira

kairaLalah Musa: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira Sunday said the Pakistan People Party (PPP) believed in the power of masses rather than that of money.

Addressing a big gathering of people here, Kaira said,”The PPP has always come to power through the vote of people, who have the real power to bring any positive change in the country.”He urged the people to elect honest, trustworthy and committed representatives in the upcoming general elections to take forward the country on the road of progress, prosperity and development.

He asked the opponents not to level blames without any proof. “I will quit the politics if a single penny corruption is proved against me and my family”, he said and added that he presented himself to media and masses for accountability.He said the PPP had honoured him by giving ministries and governorship.

The Information Minister said serving the people and honouring its workers was the hallmark of PPP. The party has never made false promises with the masses, which is evident from the fact that the pledges made in its manifesto have been fulfilled, he added.

Kaira informed the audience that gas would be supplied to 121 villages of the district and the Prime Minister had specially approved funds for the project. He dispelled the impression that gas was being supplied to villages on the basis of liking and disliking.
He said around one billion rupees development projects were in progress in the area.

Earlier, the Information Minister inaugurated a gas supply scheme at Chak Sikandar. He also met social worker Baba Fazal and appreciated his services.Former Punjab Finance Minister Tanveer Ashraf Kaira said serving the people was the top priority of the PPP.

Tanveer Ashraf Kaira said the government would import cheaper electricity from Iran to meet the energy requirements of country.
He said how could the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz change the country’s fate whereas it had failed to bring any positive change in Punjab during last five years.

Former Tashil Nazam Nadeem Asghar Kaira said the PPP had launched record development projects in the area.
