Accountability of thieves is not far away:Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the day of and looters who have plundered the hard earned money of the poor nation has come closer and as a result of general elections to be held within a few months the masses will rule the country while those who looted national resources ruthlessly will be behind the bars. He said had Zardari and his cronies not plundered national wealth during last five years, the country would not have been facing darkness, industrial sector would not have been shut down and agriculture, education, health and other sectors not been destroyed. He said that Zar Baba Forty Thieves have emptied the national exchequer, corruption is rampant and billions of rupees have been plundered while a new corruption scandal is coming to surface almost daily.CM PUNJAB-3 (1)He said that Zardari and cronies have ruined agriculture and industrial sectors and the time has come for strict accountability of the plunderers of national wealth. He said that people will have to elect such a leadership which gave solid economic policies to the country made it a nuclear power and turned down the American offer of five million dollars. He said that such a leadership will have to be brought into power which built Gwadar Port, airports and laid a network of development projects throughout the country. He said, if given opportunity by the people, Pakistan will be made a developed and prosperous country under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and every penny of public money will be recovered from the looters and utilized for the benefit of the masses.

He was addressing a big public meeting at village Ludhar, Bedian Road, today. Member Provincial Assembly Rana Mubashar Iqbal also spoke on the occasion while Assembly Members, Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders and a large number of workers were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that the 60-bed hospital to be constructed at a cost of Rs.30 crore in Ludhar in Constituency-129 will soon start providing medical facilities to the people. He said that though the member of the National Assembly elected from the constituency does not belong to PML-N but still Punjab government has undertaken record development schemes in this area at a cost of billions of rupees. He said that Bedian Road passing through this area which was in a dilapidated condition has been completed by the Punjab government in a record period for the provision of modern transport facilities to the citizens. He said besides providing Emergency 1122 service in the constituency, a police station has also been set up in the area for the eradication of crime. He said that though its elected representative neglected this area but Punjab government carried out record development activities. Referring to the development projects and welfare programmes of Punjab government during last five years, he said that 30 thousand tractors were distributed among small farmers at a subsidy of two lakh rupees each while 300 tractors were distributed in this constituency on merit. He said that educational scholarships were given to more than 40 thousand from educational fund for higher education. He said that splendid project like Ring Road and metro bus have also been completed by Punjab government under leadership of Nawaz Sharif. He said that though billions of rupees were spent on the purchase of aeroplane and bulletproof vehicles for president, prime minister, chief ministers, governors, federal ministers and elite during last five years but the common man and working classes remained deprived of proper travelling facility. However, he said, Punjab government has arranged excellent travelling facilities for the masses by completing public welfare project of metro bus through which more than 1.25 lakh people are travelling daily and its fare also been fixed as Rs.20. He said that metro bus project has changed the transport culture of the county. He said that metro bus system, laptop scheme and Khadim-e-Punjab Ujala programme are a sincere effort to eliminate discrimination between the rich and the poor.

The Chief Minister further said that the loot and plunder of Zardari and cronies have tremendously increased the problems of the masses and every Pakistani is ashamed at the corruption scandals of rulers. He said that poverty, unemployment, price-hike and corruption is rampant in the country. He said that Nawaz Sharif will have to be elected with a thumping majority for the purpose of elimination of corruption, removing darkness, launching welfare projects and transforming Pakistan in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said that if nation exercised its right of franchised properly and elected a sincere and committed leadership the destiny of the country will be changed. He said that if PML-N had the opportunity to serve the country, loadshedding will completely be eliminated within two years.

Member Provincial Assembly Rana Mubashar Iqbal while addressing the gathering said that Shahbaz Sharif has earned the title of Khadim-e-Punjab by serving the masses round the clock and he has become an example for the people of other provinces who wished they had Khadim like Shahbaz Sharif. He said that PML-N has such a leadership which is capable to change destiny of the present and the future generation. Later, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of Ludhar Hospital.
