Jashan-e-Baharan 2013 starts in Lahore

Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif congratulated Lahorites on marvelous programmes arranged with regard to “Rang Lahore” Jashan-e-Baharan 2013. He asked the citizens to take active part in these programmes. He expressed the hope that these programmes will help remove heat of five years as the previous five years were very difficult for the nation.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Rang Lahore Jashan-e-Baharan 2013 at Jillani Park, here today. Provincial Ministers, Members Assembly, government officials and a large number of people belonging to all walks of life were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister announced the formal launching of Jashan-e-Baharan programmes. The enthusiastic youth presented beautiful dance with the beat of drums, balloons were released in the air and the entire park was full with men, women and children.

The Chief Minister congratulated political leaders, PHA and District Lahore administration for arranging excellent programmes of Jashan-e-Baharan for the citizens. He said that the citizens should enjoy the metro bus journey and fully attend the Jashan-e-Baharan programmes. Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated Special Education Park at the Jillani Park and said that Punjab government has made arrangements of international standard for the recreation, training and sports for the special children and setting up of a park for special children is a revolutionary step of Punjab government.

Addressing the function, Director General PHA said that Jashan-e-Baharan programems would continue till March 23. He said good governance and best policies of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif have resulted in provision of wonderful recreational opportunities to the people. He said that 30 programmes would be held at difference places under Jashan-e-Baharan which also include Lahore City Parade on March 23. Culture of Lahore will be highlighted through these programmes, he added.

Earlier, when the Chief Minister reached Jillani Park to participate in the Rang Lahore Jashan-e-Baharan 2013, members assembly and a large number of people welcomed him and raised slogans of “Dekho Dekho Kon Aya….Sher Aya, Sher Aya”, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif…. Zindabad. Shahbaz Sharif responded the slogans by waving hand. The Chief Minister shook hand with the Jhoomer Dancers.
