Lahore: Chairman Planning and Development Punjab Javaid Aslam has said that the under-construction Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital being built in Swat on behalf of people of Punjab will be completed within the stipulated period and no compromise will be made on the quality of work.
He was presiding over a meeting of Technical and Finance Committee of Punjab Hospitals Trust, here today. Leader of Opposition in Senate Ishaq Dar, participated as observer in the meeting. Other members of the committee including Secretary Health, Secretary Finance, Senior Planning Officer Health, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa Dr. Javed Akram, Consultant, project contractor and other concerned were also present on the occasion.
The meeting expressed its satisfaction over the progress of the project. Chairman Planning and Development directed the concerned officers that transparency and merit must be ensured in the award of contract for remaining civil works of the hospital while high quality of the equipment must be ensured. He directed that shopping list for the purchase of equipment should be designed in a way that all necessary requirements are met within the available resources.
The meeting decided that a joint committee comprising representatives both from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa will be constituted to recruit qualified and suitable human resource. The meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held in the first week of March 2013 to review construction work and other matters.
