JI demands approval of Doctors service structure

Liaqat baloch taking to media at Drs hunger strike campLahore: Announcing full support to the genuine demands of the young doctors, Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has appealed to the Lahore High Court Chief Justice to take suo moto notice of the delay in the approval of the service structure and other demands of the young doctors.

Briefing media men at the camp of young doctors on hunger strike at the Services Hospital on Wednesday, he urged the provincial authorities to give up their stubbornness
to restore normal activity at the hospitals. Deputy SG, JI, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, was also present.

Liaqat Baloch said that on a directive from the Lahore High Court, all issues including the service structure of the doctors had been decided between the Punjab government and the Young Doctors but the same had not been given formal approval so far.

Liaqat Baloch said that the government had announced free medical facility and medicines from government hospitals but when the doctors disclosed the substandard quality of medicines and the stoppage of free medical facility to the general public and the media, the government started their victimization by way of dismissals and suspensions and transfers to far off places.

The JI leader said that the bureaucracy, the Finance department and the S GAD had complicated the young doctors case which was great injustice to the nation, the medicos and also the patients.
