Corrupt people could never establish a corruption free society:JI

Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has stressed upon the masses to realize that Syed Munawar Hassan.

The people must understand that if they again vote for those who have plundered the national wealth, ruined the country’s economy and plunged them in the torment of load shedding, price spiral and lawlessness, they would be axing their own feet, he said while addressing the annual Ijtehma of the Islami Jamiat e Talibat, at Mansoora on Monday.

Syed Munawar Hasan said that the coming months were crucial as conspiracies were being hatched within the country while the enemy forces wanted to steal away Pakistan’s elections. Feelers of a 3 year interim set up were being released and there were plans to plunge the country into a situation of chaos and uncertainty.

The US, he said, was talking of withdrawing from Afghanistan by next year but it desired to keep its hold on Pakistan. It was trying to create anarchy in this country so as to find an excuse for placing its nuclear arsenal under international control. He said, the US wanted to have a government in this country that would serve its agenda, and that was why there was repeated talk of a technocrats government. The US at present was just like the serpent that had been hurt and was anxious to bit any one before its death. Therefore, he said, the armed forces as also the nation must be vigilant. The US was the enemy of Islam and the Muslims and in its eyes, a Muslim in any part of the world was a terrorist while a Christian, a Hindu or a Jew could never be a terrorist even though he enters a school and kills dozens of innocent children for no cause. The basic objective of all US policies was to wipe out the Muslims in the name of terrorism, he added. However, he said, that there was a wave of awakening in the Muslim world and the US bastions were being demolished one by one. As a result, six Muslims countries had now turned into the practical laboratories for Islam where the Islamic movements had come to power and were passing through political and democratic process. It was in such a scenario, he said, that elections were being held in Pakistan. He said that although the elections were no panacea and no major change was expected through the elections, yet elections on schedule were the only way to keep the country on the path of the constitution.

The JI Ameer said that the JI would contest the elections on its own symbol and banner. Instead of going for an electoral alliance, it would make seat to seat adjustment with other parties, giving preference to the religious parties.
He asked the JI workers to fully prepare for the elections and go from door to door and request the people not to be misled by the plunderers and thugs, and to vote for the JI candidates known for their integrity, honesty and competence.
