Punjab govt announces a public holiday on February 05

Lahore: Punjab government has announced a public holiday on February 05 on the occasion of Kashmir Day throughout the province and also arranged various programmes with regard to this day.

In order to pay homage to the martyrs of Kashmir, one minute silence would be observed at 10.00 am on February 05. Kashmir Convention would be held in the provincial metropolis in which Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would be the chief guest. Banners expressing solidarity with the freedom struggle of Kashmiris would be displayed. Besides speech and essay competitions, pictorial exhibitions on Kasmir issue would also be held in educational institutions. All the divisional and district coordination officers of the province have been directed to ensure arrangements for expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren.
