Lahore: Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab and Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa has directed officers of Food Department to ensure provision of flour in open market at the rate fixed by the government so that people should not face any difficulty.
He issued these directions while presiding over a meeting held to review the release of wheat to the flour mills, here today. Provincial Minister for Agriculture Ahmed Ali Aulakh, Special Assistant on Food Mansha Ullah Butt, Chief Secretary Punjab Nasir Mehmood Khosa, Chairman Planning & Development Javed Aslam, secretaries of Finance, Agriculture, Food and Industries Departments, Director Food Usman Younis and other officers were also present on the occasion.
Special Assistant on Food, Mansha Ullah Butt presented a report to Senior Advisor Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa. He said that he has visited Gujranwala, Kasur, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Faisalabad and other districts of the province where flour was available in abundant quantity and was being sold at the rates fixed by the government. The meeting also reviewed existing stock position of wheat and expressed satisfaction over its supply to flour mills and in the open market.
Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa directed Secretary Food to ask District Food Officers to submit reports regarding provision of flour in their respective districts on alternate days and said that the policy regarding wheat procurement campaign should also be presented in the next meeting.
