Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League President Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have said that Hazara province will also be made soon, we saved Islamabad from violence and bloodshed and those talking now were watching developments from long distance.
They said this while addressing Pakistan Muslim League Parliamentary Party meeting which was held here today under the chairmanship of Ch Shujat Hussain and attended by PML Federal Ministers, Senate and National and Provincial Assemblies members and Provincial Presidents of the party. The meeting reviewed the prevailing political situation in the country and exchanged views about line of action of the party in future. Both the leaders apprised the meeting about their efforts regarding peaceful culmination of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s long march. The meeting praised the role of Ch Shujat Hussain on tactfully and appreciably handling the matter and opined that due to wisdom and farsightedness of Ch Shujat Hussain had saved the motherland from a big tragedy.
Ch Shujat Hussain said that last two days of the long march were very worrisome and he had remained sleepless for two nights. He said that we have saved Islamabad from bloodshed and violence, those talking now were watching the happenings from long distance, there is an appropriate time to act, delay results only in regrets, we are practical politicians, honour and life of the people are very uppermost for us, by getting the long march culminated in a peaceful manner we have been successful before the nation and the power and people took sigh of great relief. He said that he is in favour of the steps taken by the government in Balochistan, democracy is safe there and circumstances are gradually moving towards improvement. Ch Parvez Elahi in his address said that we will do seat adjustment with allies parties in the elections, right and justice will prevail, we took the demands of separate provinces to the corridors of power, much headway has been made about creation of South Punjab province and Hazara Province will also be made soon.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that credit for regularization of the services of Lady Health Workers throughout the country goes to Pakistan Muslim League and the government representatives have also admitted our efforts in this regard. Senator Kamil Ali Agha apprised the meeting about the progress made by the Commission for making of South Punjab province. Through a resolution unanimously adopted by the meeting, it was demanded that process for the establishment of Hazara province should be started immediately and Hazara province should also be established through the Commission for South Punjab. The resolution further said that Bhakkar and Mianwali districts should also be included in South Punjab province so that water and resources are equitably distributed and new disputes do not arise among the provinces, Chashma and Jinnah Barrages which irrigate Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan Divisions should also be included in the new province. During the meeting, Ch Wajahat Hussain, Anwar Ali Cheema, Jam Muhammad Yousaf, Raza Hayat Heraj, Nauman Langrial, Riaz Fatiana, Khawaja Sheeraz, Liaquat Abbas Bhatti, Rana Zahid Tauseef, Saeed Mandokhel, Naseer Mengal, Sardar Shahjehan Yousuf, Mushtaq Ghani, Alim Adil Shaikh, Attiya Inayatullah, Sameena Khawar Hayat, Akram Masih Gill, Imtiaz Ranjha, Farzana Mushtaq Ghani, Shehnaz Shaikh and Provincial Minister of Gilgit Baltistan Bashir Ahmad Khan also expressed their views.
