Lahore:MNA Pervaiz Malik has criticized the recent petrol price hike by the Federal Government and called it a part of PPP’s anti-poor agenda, that has led to price increases for all basic necessities such as sugar, flour and electricity. He questioned the logic behind increasing the price of petrol at a time when the public was already suffering from a CNG shortage. It was as if the PPP government was trying to torment the people of Pakistan by making their lives miserable through growing inflation.
Pervaiz Malik added that it simply did not make economic sense to increase the price of petrol especially when the global prices of oil were in decline. He pointed out that the government was concealing its inefficient revenue collection by using oil price increases to raise revenues to cover the shortfall at the expense of common man.
