CM vists Metro Bus rout without security for two hours

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif visited Metro Bus project for about two hours today without protocol and security and reviewed the pace of work. The Chief Minister visited the project from Gajjumata to Muslim Town Flyover and inspected the construction work on Metro Bus project at various places and Kalma Chowk Underpass. Chairman Lahore Transport Company Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan, Managing Director Punjab Metro Bus Authority Sibtain Fazl-e-Haleem and Director General LDA Ahad Cheema accompanied him.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that work is continuing on this public-welfare project round the clock and its completion will change the transport culture as safe, comfortable and modern transport facilities will become available to the citizens. He said that the fare of metro bus will be within the reach of the common man. He directed that adjacent roads and service roads along metro bus route, which are still under construction, should be completed as soon as possible for the benefit of the people. He said that modern infrastructure is of vital importance for the promotion of economic activities and the Punjab government is spending billions of rupees on infrastructure development in the province. He said that a network of roads, underpasses and bridges is being laid throughout the province. The Chief Minister started his visit from Gulab Devi Hospital and inspected Metro Bus Project from Gajjumata to Muslim Town Flyover. He issued instructions for early completion of development work beneath Muslim Town Flyover. He also inspected under-construction underpasses at Kalma Chowk and said their completion will improve the flow of traffic and rid the people of traffic jams.

People were very pleased to see the Chief Minister among them and appreciated the launching of Metro Bus Project for their benefit. Expressing their views, they said that from the way Shahbaz Sharif is serving the masses, it seems that the future will be of Pakistan Muslim League-N. They also prayed for the long life of the Chief Minister for the launching of Metro Bus Project. A citizen passing from Kalma Chowk underpass upon seeing Shahbaz Sharif said that he has proved himself to be Khadim-e-Aala in the real sense by serving the masses round the clock. Director General LDA informed about the pace of progress on the project.
